From a plant operator to a dual student - How a successful job entry at the global market leader of double belt presses can look like!

As of the beginning of this year's October, Kevin Meyhof is part of the Mechanical Design department . Up to this point, he was a plant operator at HELD for two years. He expects "a great variety" from his new position in the company and is looking forward to "applying the acquired theoretical knowledge during his studies at HELD". To his mind, the knowledge will be expanded through practical application. When asked what kind of know-how of a plant operator he considers advantageous with regard to his current studies, he answers: "I can process many things much easier because I've already worked practically and thus I know what to look out for, such as in handling certain tools and their areas of application." He differentiates his previous job from his current as follows: "I used to run productions for customers and make production samples, so that we can finally provide perfect material for the customer." Now he is responsible for the plants optimization, intending that "problems don't occur in the first place." This requires the optimization of processes and designing parts of new machines. He further adds: "I now operate more theoretically." Fascinating to him is the development of his own ideas: "Implementing what initially started with a rough idea, seeing how your own construction works and can be optimized" - just true to the HELD motto "Turning ideas into solutions". He advises future applicants to bring along passion and commitment to engineering work.

We are glad for this exciting insight and wish him continued success for his future career at HELD.
